This Privacy Policy explains how the Satarangi mobile application ("Satarangi", "the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. Satarangi is a music player and streaming application. We have designed the App so that your personal content stays on your own device.
By installing or using Satarangi you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The following information is created and kept only in the App's private storage on your device. It is not transmitted to us and is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data.

One exception to the above: songs you download are saved, by default, into your device's shared Music folder so that they remain available to you and to other music apps. Because these files are yours rather than App data, they are not removed when you uninstall Satarangi — you can delete them at any time with the App or any file manager. Everything else listed in the table above stays in the App's private storage and is deleted on uninstall.

The App does not request All files access
(MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) and does not use it. It works entirely
through Android's media library and scoped storage, which means it is technically
restricted to audio files and to the files it created itself.
You may revoke any of these permissions at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Satarangi → Permissions. Some features (for example offline downloads or local file playback) will stop working if the related permission is withdrawn.
Satarangi shows advertisements delivered by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device and operating-system details, and interactions with the ads shown (impressions and clicks). This processing is performed by Google, not by us; we do not receive your advertising identifier or any personally identifying ad data.
You can control this in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, where you may reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation. Google's handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy & Terms and the AdMob policies.
When you search for or play online content, the App sends the necessary request (for example your search term or the identifier of the track you selected) directly from your device to the relevant third-party music or video service in order to retrieve results, metadata, artwork and audio streams. Those services receive your IP address and standard request information and act as independent data controllers under their own privacy policies. Satarangi is an independent player and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of these services, and it does not host any of the content it plays.
We do not collect, store or share: your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, contacts, calendar, SMS messages, call logs, camera or microphone input, photos or videos, precise or approximate location, health data, or financial and payment information. Satarangi has no user accounts and no server of ours that stores user data.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not share data with third parties except as inherently required for the App to function, namely the advertising and content requests described in sections 4 and 5, which are made directly from your device to those providers. We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law or a valid legal request.
Because all App data is stored locally, you remain in control of it. You can delete it at any time by clearing individual items inside the App (playlists, history, downloads), by using Android Settings → Apps → Satarangi → Storage → Clear data, or by uninstalling the App, which removes all App data from your device. Songs you downloaded into the shared Music folder are kept as your own files, so delete those from within the App or with a file manager if you want them gone. To request deletion of data held by an advertising provider, please use the controls and contacts offered by that provider.
App data is stored in the application's private storage area, which Android protects from other applications. Downloaded songs are an intentional exception: they are saved to your shared Music folder so other apps can play them too. The App itself holds no broad file-system access, so it cannot read files outside your audio library and its own folders. Network requests to supported services use secure connections where those services provide them. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Satarangi is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will take appropriate action.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since we do not collect or hold personal data on our own servers, these rights can be exercised directly on your device as described in section 8, or by contacting the relevant third-party provider. You may also contact us with any question about this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any change will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be reflected in the app listing. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
